Pregnancy Update

So I am not sure I have addressed my pregnancy in full to internet, I chose to not even upload my scan photo to my own Facebook. So well here it is. I am now 27 weeks and 3 Days Pregnant. I have about 88 more days till this little fella is born. We also found out the sex of the baby, as we felt finding out I was pregnant was a surprise enough, we wanted to be prepared on one aspect of this pregnancy. Despite the fact that this pregnancy was unplanned we are extremely excited about it, after the initial shock and getting our heads wrapped around it!

Bump progress at 27 weeks!

I haven't taken many pictures of my bump along the way, mainly cause i would say its only just become noticeable as me even being pregnant! (before I just looked a bit chubby). I have my next midwife appointment next Wednesday, which is all very exciting! 

I will just say the heat and being pregnant do not mix well, I am constantly exhausted at the moment. I have been very lucky with this pregnancy so far (touch wood) I have had absolutely no morning sickness. There was one time I thought I would throw up due to smelly whitebait! so far very good, and I am looking very much forward to meeting this little dude now! Will keep this updated as my bump grows bigger and more pictures will come, only 2 and a bit months to go now!!

Nursery Tour Updated

This weekend just gone, my fiancée and I decided to go pick up some stuff we would need for the nursery and as it looks more like a baby's room now I thought I would share a bit more with you! We picked up a few more little bits as well, but there is still quite a bit for us to get.

Yesterday we got some lovely cot bedding. We had particular difficulty in finding what I called 'masculine' baby bedding, its cute yes, but I want it to be boyish and fun. A lot of places generally stock very unisex products. We know we are having a boy, and we know what sort of stuff we want for him.

We got some more little bibs, and my fiancée particularly liked this pattern!

We got a couple of swaddle clothes for when the baby is new born in this pattern. 

This hat was knitted for us by my partners aunt! the little bobble is so cute!

'masculine' hats, as I thought. what is not to like about mini axe guitars in a baby's hat.

My fiancée particularly liked the blue and white striped hat and mittens as he said they are Queens Park Ranger colours. 

I have also been in talks with my sister about the 'baby shower/wet the baby's head'. we have decided to have it all together and a nice BBQ in my sisters back yard with both mine and my fiancées family and friends. My sister has also decided it has to also be Harry Potter theme like the baby's nursery! (she's very game for this whole theme!) This isn't happening until the end of August so we'll all have to wait for pictures from that! but as I help my sister plan it i am sure there will be more posts along the lines of the Baby Shower!

Pregnant at a Music Festival

This year, I attended my first music festival whilst being pregnant. I have been to music festivals before, this time though I was ready for a completely different experience. Planning for it was a very stressful experience, I had to make sure I had everything I could possibly need and to be completely comfortable during the weekend!

I wasn't showing as much as I am now, but I also knew I had to keep myself safe, which to be honest was pretty easy. The Festival was during a period where the baby had started pushing on my bladder so I knew I would need the loo probably just as much as I would if I had been drinking, however I found that most people wouldn't mind you queue jumping if you just explained you were pregnant. I also prepared by taking a little stool around inside the arena bit so that during the day I would have something to sit on rather than the floor as, I am starting to struggle with the whole getting up thing now! By the last day though I did just take a standard camping chair in with me which provided the world of comfort! Honestly I became 'one' of those people! My partner and I invested in a couple of new pieces for the festival this season like a better camping chair, the fold up stool, I also purchased a nice new back pack to fit everything in I would need for the day.

I also visited the welfare tent straight away, just make them aware that there was a pregnant person attending the festival. I was met by a lovely lady who had done the same festival with both her pregnancies, and completely reassured me I would be fine. 

She did warn me that by speakers where the bass might suddenly come in, I may experience a contraction which was nothing to worry about though! Luckily I didn't. 

I also went about hiring a Volt charger, to keep my phone charged during the weekend in case something did happen. their service was extremely good and I would recommend them to anyone, not only was I able to keep my phone charged I could get a new charging unit at any time for no extra cost and could always keep my phone on me!

I hope this benefits over expectant mothers who have debated the same thing as me! Being pregnant is a magical time, it also can feel like a hindrance, however I don't want people to feel like that, you can still do much of the same things just adapting them a bit!

Sonisphere Festival

The weekend just gone was an incredibly weekend for me. My partner and i ummed and ahhed about whether to go to a festival this summer or not. Whether we could afford it and how i would be able to do it with being pregnant, were our big factors to overcome to say we could do it. Normally i would be drinking and smoking at a festival, since finding out i was pregnant obviously i have given up these things, so stepping into an environment that i was used to but now had to act in a different way was going to be a challenge for me. Eventually my partner and i had a 'f*** it' moment and decided it was something we had to do before the baby arrived. And im so glad we did. I found alternatives for many things (alcohol free kopparberg anyone?!) and really planned on how to make nyself as comfortable throughout the whole festival. We hugely enjoyed ourselves, and had a great weekend. My partner even won a free double jagermeister sleeping bag! And for once without getting a little merry i was able to remember all the festival, not wake up with a hangover and could afford to spend more money on sampling food from many of the stalls!

About 2 weeks ago my fiance and i moved. Again. This time its a bit more permanent than any place before, purely because we are expecting our first child (a boy). we decided we needed a more stable place than the many live in jobs we had previously been in. it was also the perfect chance for my fiance to change careers and no longer be stick chefing and in a career he hated! so now we have moved house to a lovely little terrace in Norwich. we even have a little garden and spare bedroom!!
